RK 8878 double-sided mounting tape is a double-sided adhesive tape with a PE foam backing, developed specifically for mounting tasks. The black liner provides an unobtrusive appearance and protects the adhesive surface. With a width of 1,220 mm and a length of 50 m, it provides an extensive adhesive area – ideal for large-area applications.
At the heart of this tape is a PE foam backing combined with an acrylic adhesive. This combination ensures good adhesion to a variety of substrates and even force transfer across the entire bonded area. The 0.9 mm thickness provides sufficient cushioning and fills uneven areas, while the black liner keeps the tape clean during storage and makes it easy to process.
Applications range from mounting on metal and plastic to wooden surfaces where robust, long-lasting attachment is required. Careful surface preparation is important to achieve the full adhesion potential.
Suitable for industrial applications

Processing & practical use
- Prepare the surface so that it is clean, dry and free from grease
- Position the tape and remove the liner
- Press the tape down firmly, distributing pressure evenly
- Check the final position and, if necessary, apply further pressure with a pressure tool
