RK 8878 double-sided mounting tape at a glance
RK 8878 double-sided mounting tape is a double-sided adhesive mounting material with a PE foam backing. With a width of 1220 mm, a length of 300 m and a thickness of 0.9 mm, it provides a stable, sound-damping mounting solution for large areas. The adhesive is an acrylic adhesive that provides robust adhesion to smooth surfaces. The liner is black, making handling easier. The core diameter is 76 mm.
The PE foam core distributes pressure evenly and compensates well for gaps, allowing uneven substrates to be bonded more effectively. The material is particularly suitable where components need to be mounted over large areas without placing a load on the supporting structure.
Suitable applications for RK 8878 double-sided mounting tape
Mounting on smooth surfaces
On metal, glass or plastic-coated substrates, the acrylic adhesive provides permanent adhesion, while the PE foam compensates for unevenness and ensures even force distribution.
Compensating for unevenness and mounting over large areas
The thick foam backing allows the adhesive to compensate for small irregularities, so that even heavily used areas remain securely bonded.

Construction and material selection
