RK 8610 Double-Sided Adhesive Tape at a Glance

The RK 8610 double-sided adhesive tape is a high-performance acrylic foam system with a modified acrylic adhesive distinguished by strong adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces. The red PE liner protects the adhesive side until use. At 800 mm wide and 5 m long, it covers long runs and thus provides a high level of process reliability during assembly.

Its transparent backing and thin format allow an attractive, unobtrusive bond, suitable for industrial applications requiring a clear appearance and a permanent connection.

Suitable for Adverse Environmental Conditions

The tape is temperature-resistant from -40 °C to +100 °C and retains its adhesive strength even in changing environments. For short periods, it can withstand up to 160 °C, allowing it to tolerate sudden temperature peaks. It also has properties that resist ageing, moisture and chemicals, helping bonds endure in damp or aggressive environments.

Construction and Function

Backing and Adhesive

The acrylic foam core forms the supporting layer to which the modified acrylic adhesive adheres. This combination absorbs high stresses, cushions stresses in the adhesive and makes it easier to remove the first layer without residue.

Application in Practice

For an even bond, a clean, grease-free surface and even pressure from the beginning to the end of the strip are recommended. The robust adhesive remains resistant even in indirect sunlight and prevents bubbles if applied cleanly.
